I`ve just finished this game and what a corker. It`s rare I come across a
game these days that has such a strong storyline. People sometimes post
asking for recommendations for detective-type games, well if you`ve not
played it yet then you might like to give it a go. It`s a few years old now
so might be able to get it cheap, and it works great on slower computers as
well.

I saw Still Life about 8 or 9 months ago in Staples. It was quite cheap, but
I didn't buy it. Maybe I should have. I never saw it after that.

I think you might like it. There are a few gory scenes (it is about a serial
killer afterall) and there`s a bit of bad language (a few F`s) so as long as
those sort of things don`t bother you then you should be ok. It`s well worth
the `A` it got on JA.

I don't mind a *little* bad language, but don't like a lot and depends on
what the bad language is. I hope its not as bad as the
guy in The Longest Journey. Skipper or whatever, ( forget his name). He was
too sleazy in my view. Did you ever play The Longest Journey? I liked it
except for that guy. Well, maybe I will see Still Life in a store some time.

I enjoyed it quite a bit and it is one of the very few recent
adventures I've actually bothered to finish. Problem is, when you do
finish it, you'll find it obvious that a sequel was planned.
Unfortunately, it didn't happen. Sad

It happens maybe half a dozen times and isn`t a big part of the game.

Yes, I played it a long time ago (I think). It`s the one with then *endless*
conversations isn`t it? Good game though from what I remember.

Did you ever play Post Mortem? Still Life is a sort of follow-up to that.
I must admit that although I`ve played it I can`t remember much about it. It
got a `B` on JA but AG weren`t as keen,

I noticed that there was going to be a Still Life 2 but by the sound of it
it`s going to need a more powerful machine than I`ve got.

vernacular.
Still Life is a great game - I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yes, thats it. Some people thought it had very long conversations and
sometimes it did, but it was good game. Most people liked it. I didn't play
Dreamfall, the sequel. I am not sure my video card would be up to it.

I played Post Mortem but didn't care for it. The characters all seemed to
have jerky movements that made them look very unrealistic. Also, I didn't
think it was a very interesting story.

I am not sure that I could play it . I don't think my video card will be
fast enough for some of the games coming out this year. They have become
more demanding. I don't know if my motherboard and CPU are good enough for
games coming up.

Hi Nick, haven't seen you here for a long time. Yes, that guy's name was
Flipper. He was just too much, like he was just stuck in the game for shock
value.

> Still Life is a great game - I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Maybe I will see it again sometime. Did you play Post Mortem the game that
Mick mentioned? Still Life is better than Post Mortem I hope.

Yes I`ve been looking for a Motherboard bundle to upgrade to but have found
that boards today seem to com with SATA connections and only 1, if any
(P)ATA connection. As I have two HDisks and a DVDwriter, non of which are
SATA devices, I`m finding it a bit of a problem.

I've not been around much because (unfortunately) there's not a lot to talk
about.
Post Mortem was ok. Not brilliant but not so bad that I didn't bother to
finish it.
Still Life is better constructed and gives you more to think about.
Available on eBay for about 5UKP and I would say well worth it.

Nick.

I've done all my own upgrading for many years, and got a new motherboard and
CPU and video card about 3 years ago I think. But some years there have been
a lot more changes in computer technology and you need to change your whole
system practically. I don't know anything about SATA and just learn when I
have to. I don't have any SATA devices. I bought a hard drive two years ago
and not about to buy another one so soon. I dont have a DVD writer, just a
DVD ROM player and a CD rom. I'm behind the times in my knowledge of
motherboards and CPU'S as well. Not sure what I'm going to do yet.
