Well, I got this yesterday about noon, because I have discovered I am
maxis' whore, and will buy every sim thing they produce. It's sad.
Don't ask.

Anyway, the good news is, I am really enjoying it. A lot more than I
expected to. In fact, since I have absolutely no committments today, I
played all night. I'll crash pretty soon here, but I'm happy to report
that I played all the way through Riley's story, although it took me a
while to figure out that she had to actually put all the baby toys in
the nursery to satisfy the goal of "preparing nursery." Also, they had
to give a great party with at least three friends before the kid could
be born. This took me about three sim days, causing Riley's pregnancy
to last unnaturally long. However, once I figured out what I needed to
do, all was well.

Then I moved on to Vincent, and immediately fell in love. He's hot,
he's rich, and he has a great job. And even better, his life goal is to
become a criminal mastermind! How cool is that, I ask you? So I played
Vincent's story, rooting all the way for him to fall in love with the
plain little barista, Naomi. Things were going great, she had moved in
with him, and he was about to propose when something terrible happened
to the love of Vincent's life. I felt so bad for a few minutes, until I
realized there was a way out. Being the real man that I always knew he
was, Vincent agreed to the terms required to save his lady love without
batting a single luscious eyelash.

Now they live in near poverty, but things are looking up. Their first
son, Gregory, has just been born, and both parents love to dote on their
baby. I have a feeling by the time Vincent's ready to retire, he might
just have recovered all he lost to get the girl.

I'm really missing some of my favorite hacks, though. Especially the
"no friends needed for careers" hacks. I'll check MATY tomorrow and see
if that's one of the ones that works with the game. Also, Inge's "no
autonomy fridge" comes in very handy when your family gets larger than
say, three people.

Well, that's my report from having been on the front lines for the past
12 hours or so. It's not going to replace Seasons, and thank goodness I
just got a new desktop to replace my stolen unit so I'll be able to play
it. But it makes Sim play on a laptop more pleasant. Plus, it's
something new and different. I definitely feel I'll get my money's
worth out of it. Now I will keep hoping the modders make lots of new
stuf for Life Stories, too.

The last half of this message is probably incoherent, as I took a
sleeping pill a few minutes ago, so I will stop raving now. I just
wanted to say I like it. A lot better than I thought I would. I guess
I'll stop calling it "Sims for Crappy Laptops" now. Smile

Is this game just for a laptop or can you play it on a PC? It looks
interesting. Thanks.

I don't see any reason why you *couldn't* play it on a PC, actually.
I think the idea is that the requirements (video card, etc) are
lesser than the regular Sims 2 games, more in line with most
people's laptops.

Then it should be perfect for my old computer. I can play Sims 2 and the
expansions, but I can't add much content, just a very few pieces, or it gets
bogged down on me. Got an old PIII 1.2 gHz with 512mb memory and a ATI 9800
pro apg. Life Stories may be perfect for it. I am ordering it as I type.
Thanks.

Just saw specs and they are worse than Sims 2, but I can play Oblivion with
no problem so should be OK. I guess should get a new machine but this is is
just so good and gives so few problems.

how did you play vincent's story?
I played Rileys and it said I unlocked Vincent's but I can't figure
out how to play his story. Sad
I figured it would be in the main menu when you have the 3 choices of:
riley's story, free play, and the tutorial.
But it's not there....
any help would be appreciated thanks!

You have to scroll to the right or left to see it - look for the arrow
buttons on the screen and poke them with your mouse.
