Hey all,

I've reached level 13 and can buy some skills like Cry of the Predator
and Passage of Nature. Are they any good? Or should I save my money
for something else? I only have about 10 silver so I really don't want
to buy a useless skill.

CotP I haven't used at all, though it seems like it should be a good crowd
control or panic button skill, even though it can only be used vs animals.

PoN is ok when you want to get X of a certain critter type for a quest or
deed quickly, but otherwise only has novelty value I found.

Ok, that was what I was thinking. Since I'm fairly poor, I'll save my
money for some other skills.

IMO, Cry of the Predator is useless. I have taken every available skill
as I've levelled and don't see the point of scaring off animals. Maybe
if it would scare away nasty elite bile-spewing wights or something.
Typically I want to hunt my chosen prey, not scare them away.

Exactly. And because it only locates 'animals' it is limited. Basically
you use the skill and get to see a menu of all the animals in the area.
Select one and it shows up on your 'RADAR' screen as a red blip that you
can use to track. At higher levels there is an improved version that
finds more types of creatures, not just animals.

Once or twice at lower levels I've had a 'pack' of animals guarding a quest
location, all of whom swarmed at once when I attacked any one of them
(resulting in a couple of incapacitations). So in a few limited instances
maybe it would help.

Hm. I guess I could see that. There were times in my younger levels when
that woulda helped ... though I don't think the skill was available at
lower levels so ... :\

I've played 3 or 4 hunters during beta up to about level 20, and that's the only situation
where I found that skill useful. But animals rarely travel in packs so it's not a particularly
useful skill.
