It evens out. Eventually you get to a point where you're just
upgrading your spells, not getting new ones.

I use four bottom toolbars, with their contents grouped logically by
function: a heal bar, a dps bar, etc. That's enough room for
everything I need. And because I added those bars through CTmod,
they're all visible at the same time. That's what you need. Get lots
of bars up at the same time, and put your lesser-used spells like
Levitate and Mind Control in buttons where they're available at all
times, but not bound to a keypress. Then you can optimize the
keybindings for the one or two toolbars that *do* have all the spells
you use all the time. There's other addons you can get to make more
toolbars, but I'm very fond of CTmod. It comes with a lot of nice
extras, and isn't near as bloated as Cosmos.

You might not be able to run the patcher/launcher, but Cosmos
compilation are just normal, regular addons. They will run on anything
that runs WoW.

Gatherer is great, indeed.

I strongly recommend MapNotes and FlightMap.

Strange, I had a similar experience to Mel: awesome improvement. I
used to listen to everyone else leaving the boat (at Theramore, etc),
mounting up, running around, while I still had a stupid zone loading
screen. Now I come back to life while the boat is still moving and
everyone else is frozen. Night and day difference. On my pvp server
it's vital to get an active screen immediately when zoning out of UBRS
or MC due to enemy players often camping the entrance.

When you zone, are you seeing the addon report something like
"ntmysFixLoadingTimes: 111/20000 events handled"? If not, perhaps it's
deactivated somehow.

Theres a mod called Bongos Bars or something. Track it down because it's
the best extra-bar mod I've seen in over a year of playing Smile

So easy to configure.

Not seeing any reports at all, that I have noticed. Of course, I was not
getting the zoning delays that you and Mel have mentioned, so it could
be symptomatic of certain hardware configurations.

I am not exactly running a powerhouse system, though. Old 64MB video
card and 512 MB RAM.

You mean when you are really zoomed out? I use it because I get a better
idea of the range of my aoe (zone) spells, to make sure I'm not going to
pull an unseen mob.

In pvp it is essentiel otherwise rogues get you to easy.

In the interface section of themain menu, you can set what are the
maximum zoom levels, check it out!

I hold down the left mouse button a lot when running around, using the
AD keys to turn, and only switch to right or both mouse buttons when I
need to hit action keys. This cuts down on a lot of motion sickness by
keeping the camera steady. Especially useful during flights.

I think that's probably fully zoomed out - that's the way I tend to
play most of the time; just scroll the mouse wheel until I'm zoomed
out as far as possible.

So why not splash out and spend a few notes of your favourite currency
on a multi-buttoned mouse with a scroll wheel? You won't regret it -
it makes a huge difference to the gameplay, especially if you get a
mouse with a couple of thumb-buttons, and maybe a couple of extra
buttons on top too.
