I remember that the soloable quests near Karazhan were painful, but I
didn't remember they were this painful. I tried brute force method
with my prot pally and I found myself using bubble and lay on hands
during the first few mobs underground. I pulled three mobs at the same
time, because it usually isn't a problem at all, but in this case it
was. After that I decided that I'll probably do the quests a bit later
once I have better gear and when I'm on lvl 70 (69 now). Razz

i'd start the solopart of the quest right now as it provides nice xp and is
no problem to a lvl 69. especially beeing a paladin, since these mobs are
undead.

I remember descending the stairs for one well reading, activating
Sense Undead, seeing all the yellow dots, and nearly leaving. Razz

I used Exorcism as often as possible to burn them down fast, buffed
myself with an Int scroll for more Mana, and ate a Blackened Sporefish
for more Mana regen. I went with stacks of drinks, 20 Underspore Pods,
and made sure my Everlasting Underspore Frond wasn't on cooldown.
Hugged the walls, and cleared the side rooms.

I hadn't researched the quest, so in the cross-shaped room I went left
instead of right. When I realized I'd gone the wrong way, of course
everything had respawned. One yellow dot! Two yellow dots! I am The
Count, because I love to count! Three thousand yellow dots! A ha ha ha
ha ha!

Man, what a quest.

bring a mage or warlock friend with you. The fight is a lot easier
that way.

It is indeed a hard area. Even on my beastmaster hunter, which is
probably the best soloing class/spec in the whole game, I had a wee
bit of trouble (did it at lvl 68 though). My mage was a bit hard too,
and I have no idea how, but I actually managed to complete this area
as a resto-specced druid too. :S.

It is pretty tricky, yep - I took my warlock down there at 68 thinking it'd
be easy enough, like everything else I'd tried... well I didn't die, but
used a few healthstones :-/

I solo'ed these on my rogue at 69, but I didn't fight any that I
didn't absolutely have to Smile But yes, they hit awfully hard Sad

Easy to solo as a feral druid. Stealth in, fight what you have to. I got
caught a few times with multiple mobs, had to pop out and heal, but I
don't remember thinking it was that bad. Stealth was the key obviously.

BM 70 Hunter:

I had no trouble with the "Kill a bunch of ghosts" part, and the "Find
the lake" one was moderately difficult, but doable with patience and
deliberation.

The well, on the other hand, was a nightmare. I finally ended up just
coprse-running to the corner where it was, rezzing, sending the pet in
to aggro the nearby undead, grabbed the well while it was dying, got
quest complete, died again, spirit rezzed, turned it in, and set off for
Dalaran.

The actual instance runs in the chain were a blast, since for most of
them I got to run with the core of one of our regular Kara teams, and
everything was pretty much clockwork. Black Morass was done with a 1/2
PUG, but it went very well and was honestly one of the most fun instance
events I've done. What a blast.

Did part of Kara for the first time last weekend (Curator, Aran, Chess,
Prince), got some nice gear out of it. Looking forward to going back
again and doing the *first* half this week.

Tough, but not too bad on my shadow priest. Shackle any adds, burn
the main target down.

I didn't say that it would be impossible, but it is hard and slow
enough that it isn't fun. I prefer quick quests for leveling up.

You're better off focusing on other areas while levelling. I find with
TBC I can't level fast enough to burn through rested bonus, and I
always have a TON of zone quests left. Good for gold and rep at least.

Before 70 I'd do:
- Sethek Halls for Shadowlabs Key
- Escape from Durnholde Keep to get attuned for Black Morass
- Netherstorm quest chain to get the Key to Arcatraz
- If you're still no 70, get the Arcatraz key by running Botanica and
Mechanar

By that point, you're well position to plow through the Kara key quest
chain, and better geared for it too.

Unless you're a druid, you're not running Bot or Mech until 70 anyway.

And I've been told that taking a 68 druid into Mech, Bot, or Arc is
not a really good idea anyway as the dungeon was designed for level
70. Even the meeting stone didn't let us summon a level 68 player.

Oh yeah, a 68 druid tank in Mechanar is painful. My 70 shadow priest
had a similar level of damage mitigation and only a couple thousand
less life. If it wasn't for the life difference I would have been
tempted to suggest I take over tanking. If it wasn't for attacks
interrupting spell casting I expect I would have generated threat a
lot better than that druid was. As a pure dps roll it could work as
the other classes could make up their slack. I remember running
botanica with a 69 druid kitty that basically worked okay and I was a
lot less geared then than I am now.

as long as its not heroic, also depends on what the druids spec is.
tanking would be a little more difficult than healing, but in general i
remember healing a level 69 warrior through shattered halls (which is a 70
instance aswell) beeing a feral druid. so non-heroic 70's in general
shouldnt be a problem for any level 68 class Wink
