There's a project to "port" KDITD to Doom 3, named "Classic Doom
for Doom 3".

The mood is rather different from the original. They used lots
of shiny metallic surfaces and very stark dark/bright contrast.
It looks more like _Alien_ than Doom but the screenshots are
worth looking at.

I don't think it looks like Alien at all...in fact, the "slime" room of E1M1
is a very faithful recreation of the same room from Doom. The only thing
that really stood out as a flaw to me were the door textures (no nifty
vertical lines) and the enemy AI (the imp in said slime room comes off his
perch when he spots you to do battle, something that definitely wasn't in
the original.


All in all, it looks *very* promising.

Very cool. Artistic license has also been used to great effect.
