Archived from groups: alt>games>doom (more info?)

I was in my local Wal-Mart yesterday and found the Doom collection (Ultimate
Doom / Doom 2 / Final Doom) for 10 bucks. On a nostalgic whim I bought it
and have been having fun blowing away bad guys.

I'm thinking of getting a cheap joystick or game controller of some kind,
was wondering if I'd be better getting a joystick or one of the x-box style
clones for the PC? I'll probably also get Doom3 so I'd like to be able to
use whatever I get with Doom3 as well.

Thanks,

Max

The best controller combination is a mouse and a keyboard. Nothing else
even comes close in regards to precision and controllability. This
applies to all games of this gender (FPS's), as any serious gamer will
tell you.
