The only newsgroup denizen for whom I know a reliable summoning
incantation is Stephenls, but he already posts here as often as anybody
else.

Don't forget Shane Graves and Gieljan de Vries. But you'll likely never
see either of them in here again...

Um, damn. *blushes* I'm really sure I don't belong in the exalted
company of Corley, Borg, Sandberg et. al., but thanks for the vote of
confidence!
To be honest, when my last Werewolf-chronicle fell flat, (work-stress
leading to below average storytelling on my part) my group started a
great Eberron-campaign. I've been looking around at the WotC-boards
(lurking and contributing to the 1001 Mournland Horrors-thread under
the nick of Oorlof). Also posting a lot at a little forum where a
couple of Dutch guys hang out, which is, yeah, a bit more user-friendly
than usenet...
I haven't been keeping up with the nWoD-books and since agww's been
steadily croaking, well...I figured checking in daily or weekly just
wasn't that necessary anymore. Sorry?
Anyways, this just to let people know that Rich' didn't tie me up,
basement or otherwise.
Hey, I'm planning a short Cthullhuesque story about CIA personnel
suspecting a "Hungarian nobleman" of terrorism, does that count as
xWoD?
Best to you all,

Argh. Which limitations in particular, and have they found
something better? Once upon a time, I thought web forums
would be better, then I tried to use them for awhile.
Foolish me.

Hey, intelligent, articulate posters who talk about stuff
I'm interested is the category. Trust me, you fit.
>To be honest, when my last Werewolf-chronicle fell flat, (work-stress

I know the feeling. Only thing I'm actually running
right now is a slightly irregular D&D 3.5 game with
3 players. It's basically just to get a potential new
gamer into it, so re-playing some of the classic 1st
adventure plotlines works fine. And a good thing too,
not really up to much else right now.
> my group started a
>great Eberron-campaign.
Twitch...filled with searing jealousy. Looks like the
only way my group will have an Eberron game is if I
start it. Which I will.
Just not right now.

<blink> I guess that depends on what sort of user you are.

Certainly could. The nWoD seems well suited to that sort of
thing, the base book in particular.
What system are you going to use for it?

Umm...Call of Cthulhu D20, I think. My group's gotten used to the more
detailed rules-set that comes with D20, so we're mostly using that. For
sci-fi, we go with Alternity; D20 Future just doesn't feel right to us.

I haven't had a thorough read of the d20 CoC rules, but
that's because the time I spent perusing the product at
Barnes & Noble seemed to show that that'd taken d20 and
tossed out a big chunk of the combat stuff, which seemed
odd to me, since that's what I think d20 is best at.
I think I might do something similar using the nWoD rules
at some point.

Most definitely. In fact, I feel the nWoD corebook is more of a horror
and mystery toolset than a game about any specific type of monster.
