Hi Arthur (and everyone else).
I've posted a few times but in general I have been a lurker in this
group for a long, long time (measured in eons). Personally, the reason
I don't post much is I don't have much to contribute, you guys are
waaaay more knowlegdable about the subject than I and if a question
comes up I can answer, usually you lot are just too damn fast with the
reply
I'm running FSX and FS9 on a Vista machine (AMD dualcore 4600+, NV7900
graphics and 2gig of ram).
Started simming on a C64 with the mail plane sim, can't remember the
name now and have been hooked ever since. I buy any flightsim I can
get my hands on no matter how bad they are but my preference is MS
Flightsim (oh and Falcon with all the upgrades).
Also, it appears to me, and I bet a few more lurkers ot here, that the
regulars have become a little "family" and I know this will sound dumb
but it feels sometimes like I am butting in as it were. Many times I
read a message and think "Nooooo Waaayyy", "I must disagree!" but then
the thought comes that I shouldn't in case the poster and his mates
gang up on me so I keep my gob shut:-)
Love reading the group, this is the first one out of 60+ I read avidly
every night. >> Stay informed about: An Invitation to the Lurkers |

You're absolutely right, CL. I've just noticed it recently was your
birthday. I hope it was a happy one and I wish you many wonderful
days in the future.
I'm glad we've had this conclave of flight enthusiasts show up, and
hope they stay with us....no invitation required....and I hope they
let us know when their birthdays roll around so we can extend our best
wishes to them as well.
All the best, mate.

I'm glad to see that some of the lurkers are coming out of the shadows
and providing a bit of seniority to the group. I have been following
it for almost 2 years. I regularly learn something, of course, but
some of the blonde OT jokes are terrible!

Hi everybody!
I've actually lurked here for about a year and a half and just recently
begun posting a bit. The name's Sheldon. I'm 41 and live in Vancouver,
Canada.
I fly via MSFS X Gold on an XPSP2 dual core with an 8800GTS/512 card.
Prior to this my only flying experience was with a Mac F18 Gulf War
game. This was entertaining once I got the hang of it but there was also
something impersonal about flying almost purely by computers and
sensors, fighting beyond visual range, etc.
My preference is for smaller aircraft and propeller power and lately,
courtesy of discussion in this group, I am enjoying the thrill of flying
a Spitfire around the Pacific Northwest as a menace to all boaters and
the bane of all aircraft maintenance personnel.

Back in those C64 and Sinclair Spectrum days (1980s) a colleague of mine had
a C64 and he had that programme. I'm not sure but it may have been titled
"Airmail Pilot"? I seem to remember him telling me that you didn't fly the
planes from in the cockpit but in a spot view from behind. Is that how you
remember it?

Heh. That once cost me a job. When I followed up, I learned another
local person had been given the job because they didn't want to deal
with an overseas applicant. Sigh. :\
