With ArmA finally getting a US release next month, I thought this group
would be way more active than what I'm currently seeing--3 messages so far
in all of April...unless, of course, it's OE on my end acting up again.
Or did everybody else buy it "elsewhere" already, and the actual US release
is now a non-event? :-/
Personally I've played the demo for an hour or two, but gave up on it until
I replace my 6600GT with something better. If I wanted to play this without
the extra eye candy, I'd just reload OFP... >> Stay informed about: Impending ArmA release--why so quiet? |

I don't know Homer. I have a 6600GT from XFX, and my system plays it
alright. Had to turn some stuff down, but still quite playable. But, I
am also running a 2.6 AMD 64bit processor and 2Gigs of RAM, maybe that
helps out a little.
Game is definitely worth it, get you some. Plus, with the release of
1.06(7) that will be shortly released, there will be some improvements
above what 1.05 did so far for performance.

Wow. Unfortunately not all of us can justify that sort of money to play a
game. I have systems that are worth less than *one* of your video cards.
How much did that set you back anyway? >> Stay informed about: Impending ArmA release--why so quiet? |

Almost 1900 pounds and in dollars it was almost 3750.
But now im finally upfront with computer power (until summer when the
next generation of gfx cards come out )
Well worth it i think, and yes i DID get a lot of taxmoney back 14 days ago
was actually already earmarked for this system.
Best Regards

Bragging rights are always short-lived. I gave that up a long time ago.
I'm also tempted byn 8800, but will probably go for the 320MB one. My
monitors can only do 1280x1024 anyway, so uber-l33t texture memory and
resolution are lost on me. ) >> Stay informed about: Impending ArmA release--why so quiet? |

Then why not go for the new release of 8600 or 8500 cards that is about to
come out?, much cheaper and still gives a lot of power.
