My son loves to sit with me while I play Jedi Academy. He's 3 years
old. I'm wanting to start getting him to learn to play it. So I was
wondering if there were a way to add an immovable bot to a server that
I create so that he can practice on it. After he's mastered that,
we'll move to movable bots (hopefully at slow speeds). Then we'll
progressively increase the difficulty.

Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

Thanks,

Troy Henderson

Yes, there is a way program your own bot. All you need is WinZip or
WinRAR or any other Zip-Program and a text-editor (Windows-notepad is
enough).
First open "assets1.pk3" in "GameData/Base" in your game-directory with
your Zip-Program. Than change to the "botfiles"-directory in the
..pk3-file. There, extract a few of the botfiles (.jkb) and open them
with notepad to learn how a bot is specified. than create your own
..jkb-file and pack it into assets1.pk3. At last you have to extract
"bots.txt", ad a new entry for your bot (read the file and you will
quickly understand how to add a bot...) and repack it into assets1.pk3.
than start the game.
In the game (Single- or Multiplayer-Mode)) open cheats-console and type
"npc spawn BOT_NAME" (of course you have to replace BOT_NAME with the
name you gave your bot...)

hope this was useful...
