Hi Quid. Could someone have glued the gun shields on backwards?
I dug out my Arco Factfile of Anti-Tank Guns (c.1974), and see nothing like
that. The shield of the German 37mm AT was higher on the left side (if
behind the gun) by about six inches, nothing so dramatic as half again
higher. The Russians and Japanese copied the German gun shield for their
licensed copies of the Rheinmetal-Borsig 37mm. The Russians kept the
six-inch step on the left of the the shield for their scaled-up 45mm version
of the gun, but theJapanese simplified the shield design for their 47mm
version.
