I recently bought a Nintendo 64 and after plugging everything in i get sound i can't get a picture. I've tried it on 4 different televisions with the same result.
The console was supplied with a SCART lead so do i need to buy and try out the lead with individual red, white and blue input attachments (AV lead i think its called)?
Also, when I switch the Nintendo console on it automatically plays through channel 0 (AV) and i have tried tuning it to other channels but without any result.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried using an RF Adapter yet? This sends the signal through a
coax cable- complete devolution in quality however it's worth a shot
in your case. I believe all the RF Adapters/RCA Cable (the
red/white/yellow cables) were all backwards compatible with one another
for all the Nintendo systems except NES (so you can use the same one on
all SNES, N64, and Gamecube) so it shouldn't be an issue finding one.

I'm in the UK, but have a US SNES that I bought back in the day... Anyway, I
tried to use the US SNES SCART cable with my UK N64 and this was the same
sort of result I got - sound, but no video.
Not sure if that helps you or not? I just reverted to using the composite
connections (yellow, red and white connectors).

I am in the USA and i have an n64 that i bought when they first came out and it came with the same set up (blue, white) but i went out and bought some yellow, red, and white connecters. i found that it is easyer to use the n64 through a VCR in witch you can change the chanle through 1-2-3 so you can set it to your video chanle.
hope this works for you........ >> Stay informed about: Help setting up Nintendo 64 |
