I am also having trouble getting the blue light to come on.
I have activated the first three machines (Red, Green, Yellow) however
blue just won't switch on.
I have 5 Crystals however only activated four. I have the lever on the
bridge on the correct icon and have accessed the map table and worked
out the correct co-ordinates. However the blue light on the machine
activation panel is still not showing. I have even resorted to only
having four active crystals in their correct button order and moving
positions but still nothing.

I have checked a couple of walkthroughs and started the game again
just following the walkthrough but still no joy.

Has anybody else had this problem and how did you get around it. I am
running Vista however I would be doubtful that it is an O/S problem as
the rest of the game to that point plays just fine.

Mark, I replied to a few of Jay Smith's messages on adventure newsgroup. I
had problems with this part, and so did other people. The game seems to be
kind of fussy in this part about doing crystals and stands in a certain
order. Did you check the whole thread above? I clicked on your link above.I
think Jay got past this part, but I don't see any message about it in the
above thread. Maybe Jay will see your post here and help you out. I got past
that part but took a while and I had to repeat the crystals part several
times.

I forgot to set one of the stands either in the Pump room or Engine room and
when I set it the stand according to the walkthrough, the light came up on
the bridge room wall (think it was blue light).

I used the Gameboomers walkthrough. The URLl is in my reply to Jay. Is that
the walkthrough yuo are using?

I played it in Windows XP, but if the game has been running OK and others
had trouble with this part of the game, I don't think it would be to do with
Vista.
