Hey all,

I'm trying to remember the old console system I had as a kid. There
were no cartridges, all the games were built in. There were four
breakout games (regular, progressive, double, and one other), and two
pinball games. Each game had its own button on the console to start
it.

Anyone have any idea what system this was? I can't find its like
anywhere online.

Thanks,
Stewart

No, that one has 4 pinball, 2 breakout, and 1 basketball. I'm sure
there were 4 breakouts.

Thanks for trying, though.

There were also two paddles connected by cables, not buttons/paddles
right on the console.

This might be the Atari Pinball or the Sears version:

Yes I have what you are talking about because I have it. It is called Video
Pinball and it was made by Atari. The flipper buttons on each side of the
console. Nice piece of work.

Nope, that's not it. The buttons/paddle for gameplay were _not_ on the
console. There were two paddles connected by cables. Only the
game-select and power off/on were on the console.

Anyone else?

Perhaps it was the Odyssey 2100? Here'a a link to a page with a
picture:

http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?st=3&c=714

BTW, that website (www.old-computers.com) is a very cool database of
obsolete computers and game consoles from all over the world. Every
time I stop in, I learn something new!

Nope, we seem to be getting closer now. The unit looked a bit like the
Sears Video Pinball (without the onboard controls), but it had external
paddles like those that came with the Atari 2600. Any more venture to
guess?

There was another version of the Philips/Magnavox Odyssey 2100, that
had a red / white casing and different layout (yes, still two tethered
controllers). Are you from Europe? The Odyssey 2100 was only sold in
Europe. There might have been a Tele-Partner clone released over
there, too (as I seem to remember). If you are from the US, on the
other hand, it must have been a Video Pinball.
Ciao,
Simone
