Sorry, if my post was messy but I was really ticked. But, on a new drive, I
reinstalled NWN2 with original disks; I then assumed by restoring NWN2 from
a backup drive, it would do just that...restore the game to the settings
where they had been before. This tactic did not work. The game hung and
quite frankly I could remember if I had patched it or not, which might have
been an issue.
So, I uninstalled the game thru Control Panel and restored the game from the
backup drive alone, but it was quirky and it appeared with no means to
remove it. There was nothing in Control Panel, nothing on the Start menu
programs list and I just didn't want to delete the folder. PC is Win XP SP2
So, I "regedited" it out of my PC. My saved games were saved elsewhere so
they were intact; I downloaded that latest patch ran the game and all seems
to be well.
I am grateful for your post and will retain the info you provided for future
reference in the event this happens again. Thanks a lot.
