Help With NCAA 2004 College Football on Gamecube

I have the NCAA 2004 College Football game for the Gamecube and love it.
However, I can't seem to figure out how to make the QB go into pass
mode when running an option pass play. The "Y" key just makes him jump.
Any help on how to make him choose to pass instead of run on an option
pass would be greatly appreciated.
