If you are talking about the shark tank in remake then run. Run! Run! Run!
Best bet is to run along the outside (to the characters left) and up the
first steps to the control room door. No sense in going down to the tank
without the "control room key" because you need it to open the door to get
away from the sharks. Apparently you can kill the two smaller sharks in this
area, but the big one is invincible.

If you have drained the tank and you are already in the room with the giant
shark, you need to electrocute him - there is a handy device on the platform
(just past the shark) that will do the trick.

Did that help? Susan

The device Susan mentioned, you need to push it off the platform and
into the water. The shark will be electricuted, and once the sparks
have died, you can go back into the water and get the key (or whatever
it is the shark's guarding, been so long since I played). The shark
might move once or twice, but that's just to scare you -- it's safely
dead after you shock it.

And she's right about the first part. Run your legs off! Stay on the
outside ring, even though it takes a little longer -- if you try and use
the faster, inside ring, you'll end up being killed. I seem to remember
one shark jumping out of the water, like a trout, and diving down to
swallow me whole. Ouch! I think it took me six or seven tries the
first time (I'm so lame), and even then, it was a heart-thumping race.
But then, I still had trouble once I was in the control room, solving
the next puzzle. Man, I'm so lame!

In Chris' game, doesn't Richard get eaten here? ISTR taking his combat
shotgun at around this point.

You pick up Richards shotgun inside the control room just about where the
smaller shark is still wiggling. Funny, I'd forgotten about Richards
shotgun.

It's one of the reasons I love Chris' game. The difficulty is upped
over Jill's much more steeply than the original. I've got a guide I
wrote aeons ago which adds just 17 minutes to Chris' game over Jill's
fastest game. The REmake adds about thirty minutes!

Thirty minutes is pretty impressive considering Chris doesn't have the
lockpick or the extra two spaces. I never did manage to find Rebecca on my
first play through with him. I didn't find her dead body either. I heard the
scream, but after spending an hour looking I gave up. I found where she was
the next game (major embarrassment that she was so close). The only parts of
Chris's game I enjoy are the flash grenades and the minor story differences.
I prefer the atmosphere to the challenge. I'm such a wimp. I liked the way
the cut scenes where dependant on when your character arrived at the
cutscene, or the direction your character approached the cutscene. Was it
the same in the original resident evil, or was that just in the remake?

You should try his game. You should have at least one bonus weapon to use by
now, so it won't be as difficult. His story in the game is slightly
different from Jill's. Definitely worth a peek. I love that glitch too!
(stress free gameplay)

The hardest game mode for me personally is Chris in Real Survivor. He
just doesn't have the amount of inventory slots to use like Jill.
Jill's RS game is actually quite easy, as most of the time you'll be
discarding items and hardly every retrieving them.

Isn't she in that little study in the upper east wing where you find the
dog whistle? I have to admit it's been a while since I played REmake, I
just can't seem to put GTA: San Andreas down.

> The only parts of Chris's game I enjoy are the flash grenades and the

The flash grenades are cool, I think I prefer them to the knives and
tasers that Jill utilises. One funny thing: In Invisible mode, get a
zombie to attack you and use a defence item. The knife will stick in
his head, although the zombie stays invisible.

It's almost as amusing as pinning crows to the wall with the dart-gun
in RE2 Surprised)

There does seem to be many more different paths that are time related.
In the original, which path you chose affected the rest of the
cutscenes (Taking Rebecca with you Y/N, Visiting Richard, etc.).

> Was it the same in the original resident evil, or was that just in

See above, although there are a few other instances in Jill's game.
Where you meet Barry, for example, affects what happens way later in
the game in the Guardhouse and caves I think. That, and there's another
choice ("Let Barry lead?") which gets him killed off, and thus stops
him appearing at the end.

I kind of hate that last one, as it avoids the plot line of Wesker
manipulating Barry to do his evil deeds and makes the game's conspiracy
seem shallow.

Cheers,
Rob

I'm impressed! The first time I played the game I got Chris through, barely,
then I discovered Jill's bigger item slot and grenade launcher glitch. I did
the rest of the game modes with Jill and her glitch, and I shook like a leaf
all the way through invisible. No more Chris until I had all the bonus
weapons in tow!

Yes, that's where she is. I was under the impression that you've done GTA SA
three times already. Am I mistaken? I'm still at 80% completion - black
project.

I can only imagine how funny the knife bit looks. I had a difficult enough
time getting through with Jill's glitch. I can't imagine the battle with the
imature Tyrant in the Lab with Chris - avoidable on Jill's game.

> It's almost as amusing as pinning crows to the wall with the dart-gun

Agreed, crows pinned to the wall are amusing. I really hated that weapon
with a passion - I missed more than I hit.

> There does seem to be many more different paths that are time related.

I meant like the first cut scene in Jill's game - different view of Barry
depending on what side of the table you walked on (left or right). Your path
choices through the upper mansion determined whether or not Barry handed
Jill the grenade launcher. Etc. Same cut scenes - different view.

I don't recall "let Barry lead". Was that in the remake? I only remember
"give Barry back his gun?".

I don't like skipping the story either, but when I was trying to get the
time bit done - I had too. Did you get the bonus's using Chris and not
skipping things you could? Like not rescuing anyone etc?

You ran right past the room you want to go in. There are a couple of stairs
up to the locked door of the control room. The control room is just before
the plant room. Easy to miss. The plant bit comes later, and depends on what
character you're using, and who is alive or dead when you meet the plant.

I'd noticed the "times cheated" stat. Interesting addition to the SA game! I
don't save after using the cheats, but I sure do love to use them.
*My apologizes to all for discussing this game here. I should have discussed
this in the GTA newsgroup.*

I don't understand why some dislike the cheesy dialogue. I personally enjoy
the laugh in between bouts of sheer terror! My favorite is still Ada's
parting words ("fine, let's split up") to Leon after he tried to strangle
her in RE4.

Thanks for the info on the origional RE. I didn't get to play it. I was
surprised to find it wasn't exactly the same as the remake.
