It was finally time for my second generation legacy heir, Julie, to
go to college. She rubbed the lamp and got $22000 from the genie,
which she converted into 4 statues. Once at college, she sold a
couple of the statues--which gave her enough money to buy a house just
perfect to become a Greek House. She inserted all those goodies that
Bigfoot had given her--stove, dishwasher, etc and the electro-spin-
discop-thingi from Dad. She called and asked for a Greek charter.
She started greeting everyone who passed by, looking for likely
pledges. She also wandered off to get a Greek Letter for the house,
which she stashed in the shower. It has since been moved to beside
the front door. The electro-glide was quite popular, which saved her
listening to many renditions of 'gerbits, gerbits, go gerbits'. Sarah
Love seemed particularly likely to interested in the Greek life. So
Julie invited her back, along with three housemates. By the end of
the second day, Sarah was a friend with ~100 daily relationship. By
the end of the semester, all four of the women had very high daily
frirendship with Julie and their long term relationships were
climbing. Yet Julie never got to ask them to pledge. She had a level
3 Greek House, but could not ask for pledges. She managed to make
good grades--despite having forgotten to get a computer and having
spent all her money on drapes so that the frat boys could not oggle
the sorority through the windows. I guess it is a good thing it was
fall and classes were easy.
By the end of hte second semester, Sarah was her best friend and the
others nearly so. But still they could not be asked to pledge. The
house was now a level four Greek House, with one member and no
pledges. Julie was getting frustrated. This was not turning out as
she'd imagined.
At this point, I decided to bend the legacy theme to see if it was
possible for a pc sim to join the Greek House. After all, according
to th Prima Guide, there should be FOUR new members by then. Allegra
called up the Greek hotline. Sure enough, Greek House was listed.
Julie came rushing over. In no time, they were friendly enough that
Allegra was allowed to join. Julie hung around all day until asked to
go....which is a bit unusual based on the few times I've pledge Greek
Houses. Usually once you join, the Greeks leave.
Anyway, I decided to see if Allegra could actually move in and join
the House. She could. But, hum, NPCs are still an issue.
Anybody know what might be going on here? >> Stay informed about: More Greek problems |

They are playable sims!?! That would explain it. Every single
'pledge' I was trying to recruit as an NPC was actually a PC! I guess
the 'housemates' should have been a clue.

Sarah Love and three housemates? Is it possible that these women already
have a greek house of their own? If so you might want to try asking them to
move in rather than pledge.
Also I've had some success with going the other way - go to Sarah's house
and ring up Julie and ask to join.

They are the sorority in the desert college (La Fiesta Tech, I
think). Sigh. It was random chance that the first walk-by was
another Greek member, I guess. I think I'll leave them there. The
friends still enhance the Greek House status...It's just that not
having done Greek before, I was concerned something was broken--either
from mods or from expansion packs not properly accounting for each
other. >> Stay informed about: More Greek problems |

I don't know - I was just sort of making wild stabs in the dark. Let us know

Well, by the end of the third semester, the Greek House gained level
5, had three members and an array of students lined up to become
pledges--as soon as cleaning or gardening needed to be done. Vamsy,
Allegra and Julie are quite an assortment. The most promising pledges
are all red heads, so Allegra is beginning to wonder if she should dye
her hair pink.
Reeba, the spare-heir, will be arriving soon. She left home a tad
early to make room for cheese-cake-twins. She has talked Bigfoot into
building her a sentry robot and a servo to take with her. She has an
evil plot to plant a line of flamingo temptresses right in front of
the sentry bot when she gets to Greek House.
The Electrospinthingie makes an excellent Cheerleader-mascot trap, and
it is rare to hear the Gerbits chants around Greek House.
Yes, life is getting interesting in Greek House. After a few
generations, it should be quite a place. Julie has decided to allow
male pledges--though not to let them live in the House. Maybe they
could take over an associated dorm next door. Roger saw the House and
really liked it, and it is hard to turn down your little brother.
Besides, there is always something heavy that needs to be moved or
something really disgusting that needs to be cleaned up. >> Stay informed about: More Greek problems |

Since when did any man ever clean up, especially something disgusting?

Date someone who has also been alone a long time and whos' place is at least
equal in cesspoolness. She will be most likely to cave quickly to getting a
new place together and simply throwing a match on the domiciles of
singledom.
