With a few minor edits of ini file.

Only difference I have now is parry in G2 is
actually better than parry in G3, so I don't need
to have so many hit points early in the game, and
I can still tangle with the beasts. I can attack,
and move at the same time with full turn and
forward movement on mouse2, lock on, and sword
swing on mouse1 in both lock-on and running
attack. That means I can hold my own in mobs
and not use lock-on there ... giving me sword
strokes in side steps, and parry when retreating
.... which G3 does not have until shield parry
is earned. It is not complicated , but also,
it is not needed. The G3 system is more than
enough in any game.

Also, I dl'd a graphics enhancer .. which works
fine on an 8800 card. I hear it is not so great on
older cards.

Have to admit that the character animation in
G2 is very nice. A lot of work went into that.

My only complaint now is the "Oblivion" style
of the game. I'm spending way too much time
talking to people, and not progressing in the
game ... no work ... no gold ... no weapons
.... just yak, yak, yak with ever increasing
convolutions of the "plot ? ". Add to that a
sadistic over abundance of jerks and bullies
and it is Oblivion all over again.

Heh! Wouldn't you like to know. I was sure this had already
been done, so I went looking for it. Found it on the RPG group.
Guy did a super good job of figuring out how to edit the
combat settings, and it really works fine .. very much like G3.
Google Gothic 2 Survival Guide by AlterEgo, and just do it.
I did not need the ASDF keybd he recommends. Instead, I
moved forward to mouse2, and unchecked ( as recommended )
the G1 keybd to get single stroke on mouse1, and do the
fast mouse swing ini edit for sure. That is almost entirely
the G3 keybd combat control ... and makes the game
much much better.

I got the graphics detail update from World of Gothic .. there
is a post there linking it. A bitch to unpack ... 7z file.
Caution, may not be worth it on some systems.

The world is a primative place. Real information is hard to come
by. All I have is a college education, so I've read a lot of books
and passed a lot of quizzes. What the hell can I do ?

Please explain why your postings are full of opinionated "hot-air" and
short on facts ?

Anyway, posting your complete set of changes to the G2 .ini
would be a start in the right direction.
