Hey all. I'm looking to play Nelson's new game, Reliques of whosey
whatsit - but I've yet to use a Glulxe interpreter. I can't seem to
find a good page about the latest interpreter for this format. And I
found some Winglulxe links in a search of the forum, but they were
dead.

Any pointing in the right direction would be most appreciated.

Thanksf or the help!

-Travis

Oh, okay. I thought to use a blorb file you need a Glulxe interpreter.
I'm not sure how I came to that conclusion. Thanks for the
clarification!

So what is the purpose of the blorb file exactly?

If you already have Gargoyle running on Windows, you can just rename
the file to a .Z8 file and it should still run with its Frotz
component.

The blorb file is a bundle for all the resources used by the game. In
a Glulx game it would contain multimedia; for Zcode games I'm not sure.
Cover art?

Best,

For Z-code games it does contain multimedia as well: "Sherlock" and
"Lurking Horror" provide sound effects, V6 games such as "Zork Zero",
"Shogun", "Arthur" and "Journey" contain graphics.

The newer Inform 7 games ("Bronze", "Damnatio Memoriae", "Reliques of
Tolti-Aph") include cover art and meta data.

The latter are packed in a single Blorb-File whereas in the former
there are separate Z-code files, the multimedia data in blorb format is
available from the archive. This is, because the Infocom games are
still under copyright (I think).

Cover art and bibliographical information (title, author, release
date, etc.)

A Z-code game could also contain multimedia (sound in any Z-code file,
graphics in a V6 game).
