Gears of War. - Wow Just wow.
just played gears... - took about an hour or so to really get a feel for this game, i found the control style a lil strange at first but once you give yourself time to adjust it's actually pretty cool. i'm glad i picked this one up, i have a feeling i'll be playing this for.

I believe it is the typical violence and gore seen in like Doom and
others, that gave it the rating. Anyhow, if you want to know why a
game got a rating it did, look next to the rating. The Descriptors.
For Gears, you have:
Rated "M" for Mature
Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language
In other words, what you find in something war related.

The option is called "Extreme Content" and gives an on/off. It toggles
the language and some of the blood-splatter.

In close combat the player is able to take a chainsaw weapon to the
opponent. In high definition that may be too much for some younger players.
Without knowing the parents it's hard to predict how much grief you'll take. >> Stay informed about: Gears of War & M-rating |

The language in Rainbow Six Vegas makes GOW seem like a kiddie Nintendo
game, though the gore isn't as bad. Every other word from the enemies either
"F" this or "MF" that. Sometimes I think it sounds funny, considering the
whole of the dialogue in GOW. >> Stay informed about: Gears of War & M-rating |

That can be toggled off.
So long as the game isn't AO... (eg) >> Stay informed about: Gears of War & M-rating |
