Saw that one last night too, when much to my dismay I found that it's
*still* coming to my house for free.
Was it just me or were all the "Worst of..." things nothing but a
Sega-bashing session?

It's not just you, and the last I checked, Gamepro was *still* one
of the highest circulation game mags out there. Which means that all
these noobs are reading it, and believing every word. Well, at least
Sony finally lost an important court case, and it looks like EA is
going to get it from their investors as well. Maybe this and the
ousting of Kuturagi is the beginning of a competitive two console
market again?

No idea, as long as it's more than one. Three would be fine too,
and yes, I realize this is all wishfull thinking. It took two
generations of serious competition, from a popular hardware
manufacturer, to bring Nintendo's brand recognition to where it is
today, and I see no reason why the Sony brand would be any different. >> Stay informed about: You know you're GamePro when... |

I don't even read it any more... I flip through it to see if there are
any Sega related ads to scan, then I just throw it away. >> Stay informed about: You know you're GamePro when... |

I hear that. Speaking of ads, I really like that ad for the Xbox version of Doom 3
that has both of the marines on the cover. Trying my best to see if I can get one
of the local stores to give me their cardboard standup of that scene...

You too? I signed up for a free subscription and was happy when it
finally expired, but then they signed me up for another free year. Ah well,
gives me something to look at while on the pot.

Yeah, seems like they must have signed me up again, for free, as this was more
than year ago by now. About the only real joy I've gotten out of it so far was
this 200th issue anniversary thing...as it shows all their covers, and goes into
a little history. Back when I was a kid, I used to really enjoy GamePro...but
nowadays...ugh.

Theres a damn good reason(teds example) why most decent gamers just
don't read that junk. Ever since 1mbps download speeds, mags have taken
a big hit. The information flow is too fast to wait for it to be
printed and screwed up.
G4 is another fine example of something thats really screwed up.
IMHO though IMHO....
