I currently have a 42" HDTV, 720P 1080i. I'm looking at a 52" 1080P for a not
too distant purchase. I do not own a game system, as I do what little gaming I
do on my PC. But I was wondering wtah of the game systems out there will give me
the absolute best resolution and graphics if I decided to buy one. An important
factor will be that I will want a good flight/combat sim, and hopefully Madden
football and maybe a good baseball game. I'm not into the shoot-em-up war games.
Thanks for any input.

PS3 and Xbox360 games look pretty much the same. 360 has better game
library and much better GUI than PS3. PS3 throws in BlueRay. You decide.

I think both the PS3 and X360 have similar visual capabilities. And as
he said above, X360 has the superior library at the time.

But there are currently no significant flight or flight-combat sims for
either with the exception of Ace Combat 6 (X360). It's very much arcade-
orientied. I'll eventually get it when it's a $20 special, but not at
$60.

X360 has one good racing sim (Forza2) and a good racing *game* series
(Project Gotham Racing 3 & 4). PS3 will *eventually* come out with GT5,
which I'm sure will be fantastic, but no bets on when.

And from cursory research, I don't think they do a great job on sports
sims yet. See gamerankings.com for info on those.

So, I'm not sure you'll get much value out of either. I just bit the
bullet and purchased an X360.

Sports games are good on 360 and PS3. Better than what you can get on
the PC. Both FIFA08 and NHL08 are better than the versions sold for the
PC this year. The versions they released for PC are the same as the
versions they sell for PS2. PS3 and 360 versions are much better than PC
versions.
