Where do you get stuck? The interface isn't the greatest in the world,
but I can't recall any specific problems with it.

Also, don't forget to install all patches. There's tons of new stuff
added later.

You have to watch it at first not to overspend.

If you haven't been making the people happy a senate vote can really
hurt when your party is voted out of power. You'll suddenly lose some
bonuses.

And easy way to get money (so easy that it got seriously nerfed in
the patches) is to trade your technology for other technology, and
sell those technology to all other players. And not for one-time
payments, but for small payments over a very long period.

Other than that, managing your money is a very important aspect of
the game. Make sure you don't run out of money in the first place.
Only spend more money than you make when you really need to. Like
at the start of the game, when you need to scout and stake out
your territory. But once you've colonised the planets you need,
you really need to keep a close eye on your economy. Play with the
taxes. Keep everybody happy in the cheapest way possible, build
only those structures that you really need and can afford.

And if you think the economic part of the game is too hard, you
can simply select tons of economic bonuses at the start of the game.

Also: don't blindly assume you can play this game at a high difficulty
level. Unlike pretty much every other turn-based strategy game, it
actually has halfway decent AI, and that means you need to learn at
a low difficulty level.

I have no idea which are the good ones. I just hang out here. I
suspect Stardock might have there own forum, which would probably
be a good place to check.

Don't search answers on the GalCiv-2 pages. It's a very different
game. Better check game forums at Stardock: http://www.galciv1.com/forum.asp.

But if you have a specific problem, ask here. Despite it's somewhat
old game, we might remember some hints.
