The more I read on their site, the less this makes sense. Dark Heresy
was pre-sold-out, and even the Collector's Edition sold out in six
minutes, and you know how people seem to avoid GW's overpriced
collector editions.
At the same time, they're up to a ridiculous number of WFRP books and
supplements, all of which are selling well. And Talisman sold
brilliantly as well.
So what happened?
What pisses me off is that they took their license away from Hogshead
to do all this stuff, now they can't even do more than two years' work
on it, and the one game that's gotten everyone excited is going to go
away practically before it even gets here! I remember one guy locally
wanting to buy all three versions and run/play them all. The Rogue
Trader version would have been the best, mainly for the freedom it'd
allow players. Instead, we've only got ONE of the three versions,
focusing on the Inquisition.
They better find another publisher for this stuff. I'm sick of GW
killing off all their better games. First they did in Specialist
Games for Lord of the Rings (which has beautiful figures but pathetic
rules), now they're killing off WFRP and 40KRP so they can sell more
horribly written novels.
I can see their stock prices soaring now...
