They locked their doors quite frequently in GTA3. But not in later
games, for some reason (because of whiners, I suppose).

Well, I've never seen it in VC and later, other than for police
vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, and the occasional vehicle used as
scenery during some missions...

Never played GTA 3. Can't find it anywhere, so I can't, really.
