Oh the yoof of today...

If you just want to have the game completed and mess around
free-roaming, you can always d/l a '100% completed' game save off
gamefaqs.
The more fun route of course is to get help getting over any missions
you might be stuck on.

Let me take a stab and say 'The Driver', which (for reasons unbeknownst
to me) lots of people seem to have a problem with.
(These people should try the original PS2 Zero missions in SA - then
they'd really have something to cry about.) =P

Rumours aside, I don't know for a fact that they toned down the Zero
missions for the PC + X-Box releases, but it would appears so.

Don't know if they bothered with the updated PS2 release of SA, but I
would assume yes, given the fact that I own both the original and
Platinum releases of PS2 VC, and the Platinum had much of the 'sting'
taken out of certain missions.

Bah! "If you can't stand the heat, get the f*** off the PlayStation!" Wink

The first Zero mission is difficult but in a very different way to The
Driver.

<smug mode> I never found this mission difficult, it's really not hard
if you know how to control a car with precise efficiency.

Is it true they changed these missions? I thought it was just a rumour.
The mission to protect the aerials *was* fiendish, in fact, I think
that other than the NRG-500 Challenge this was the one I had the most
trouble with.

Oh dear, am I in for some Hell when that comes up? [seeing as how the only
way I've ever beaten 'The Driver' has been to try the race over and over
until I get lucky and Hilary crashes into traffic... :]

People don't know how to drive?

I suppose. I just recently started my second PS2 SA game. Air raid?
Hah, passed on the first try, but just barely. Supply lines? Took
maybe five tries. First time through I must have tried Air Raid 20-30
times before passing it, Supply Lines second try. I didn't know Supply
Lines is so hard, so that probably helped.

Compare to the PC? Air Raid passed on the first try, only one plane
actually got close enough to actually drop the bomb. I don't know if
it's just the mouse aiming or if they made it otherwise easier. In
Supply Lines, you definitely have more fuel (or, in effect, time).
Passed in one go too.

I don't think the NRG500 challenge was any easier on the PC, though,
and I'd say that's easily the hardest thing in SA. In PC VC, I think I
spent the most time in the RC car race or PCJ playground. Less than 10
tries on both anyway.

The 'Demolition Man' mission is made stupidly easy if you fly around
killing the construction workers with the rotor blades (Yep, even works
with an RC!) before you pick up the first lot of explosives.

The timer doesn't start until then, and then it's a case of starting
from the top and working you're way down.

That's one of my favourite missions in VC, just for the novelty. More
RC please Rockstar!

Cheers,
Rob

And hold down the fire button.

You have infinite ammo so take advantage of this. I think somebody else
mentioned this (I've only just had a chance to look) but this mission
does indeed seem easier on the PC, even with the keyboard. I've got a
feeling it's due to the extra distance that makes the planes visible
before they've even hit your radar!

Cheers,
Rob

As long as you can put up with Zero's whining, leave him blocked at the
start of the race. Go to the second barrel blocking to road and pick it up.
Go to the first tank, directly above it, and drop the barrel. When it
explodes, pick up the barrel and finish off the other tanks in the same way.

For some reason, Berkeley's Baron crashes while you're doing this. With
nothing else in the way, go and move the first barrel blocking Zero. Go for
a plank and bridge the first crossing. When he passes it, pick up the same
plank and take it to the next crossing. Clear any remaining blockages.

The barons appear in clockwise rotation (in topdown* view) so whenever you
take one out, turn right to get the next one. Every so often you'll see a
flight of three appear from the north. Ignore them - they start too far
away. Take out one more lone baron, perhaps two, then go back for the flight
of three when they are in range.

* I'm not suggesting you use any sort of topdown view (I don't think you
can) I just needed a reference point for "clockwise".

Does it jump about in the PS2 the way it does on the PC?
