Looking for recommendations for a late-30s male who doesn't play games
much, but got pretty hooked on Playstation GTA San Andreas last summer.
What's likely to entertain me this summer?
What I liked about SA was the huge, realistic urban landscape and the
sequence of missions which required different skills (not just shooting
or driving). But I'm prepared to be persuaded that other styles of
games would work for me. >> Stay informed about: I liked GTA San Andreas - what else would I like? |

I would suggest MAFIA on PC it has a Great Story , Great Graphics , and
a City to explore, it's Not as big as SA but it's still great game. >> Stay informed about: I liked GTA San Andreas - what else would I like? |

God of War is a must, plus it's a Greatest Hits title so you can get it
cheap. Also Resident Evil 4 and Metal Gear Solid 3. >> Stay informed about: I liked GTA San Andreas - what else would I like? |

RE4 is my favorite, but it is a shooting only game. GTA Vice City is good.
Not as big as SA, but plays pretty much the same.

I also liked gta, played all the versions ... then I bought god of war
because of all the recommandations. When I start playing I was not
impressed. All I had to do was push as many buttons as fast as I could. Does
it change during the game? WHy is it so good?

Well, in the beginning of the game, it does forgive and favor
button-mashers, but as the game progresses you'll notice that you have to
rely a lot more on specifc combos- for example. Some enemies begin
appearing with magical shields which require a specific combo to defeat the
shield. I strongly suggest you stick with it, you may be pleasantly
surprised. As far as why it's so good I'd say has a lot to do with the
story and how it's told as you play the game. >> Stay informed about: I liked GTA San Andreas - what else would I like? |

The Soundtrack is way better than that of San Andreas! Plus, the
graphics are really colorful. I pretty soon got sick of that orange haze
in Los Santos, but the neon in Vice City... ah, gotta love it.
Also, Tommy Vercetti does not let people push him around all the time
like CJ does.

So it's a "memorize the specific combo for the specific enemy"
button-masher. Ick. Glad I didn't pick it up a couple of weeks ago...
