Anyone else noticed the G1000 zoom on the MFD in the M20 and C172 (and
probably others) is backwards? Click on the '-' and it zooms in and if you
click on the '+' and it zooms the moving map out. How did that happen?

Because as with most software M$ seem to release lately, the beta testing
seems to start 'after' they actually start selling the product.

It looks correct to me Barney. the (-) makes the map area smaller and the
(+) makes the map area larger.

Hi,

There is a lot missing in the MS G1000 and fonction is simply scamp,
like you can not really read the fuel flow. better buy the FS9 with G1000
add-on

Every thing seem to have been done into a hurry with FSX and not
professionaly made with bug , like if it was done on purpose to sell add-on.

With that in mind the FsUx does not worth is price, fs9 was and is better
made.

I use the C-172 with the glass cockpit all of the time and I think that the
Garmin GPS 1000 is great.

Don't know what the other guys complaints are but he isn't being very
specific.

Hmm, and did you by coincidence find a DME readout somewhere or a Flight
Director which is present in the real Baron equipped with the G1000? I agree
with PC's opinion that it was developed in a hurry. Many bugs have been
reported and almost none has been fixed.

Oskar, I like the G1000, it serves my purpose well. I'm aware of the lack of
a DME readout, I read about it on www.airliners.net, also saw your reply
about the AP button on www.gamehourz.com.

Also found this blog:
http://garmin.blogs.com/my_weblog/2006/10/prop_spinner_ta_2.html

Comment from the site:

"FSX is an excellent simulator for playing around with and getting to do
things you normally can't do in an airplane. We know you’ll enjoy many hours
of flying the FSX. Just remember when you turn off the computer and go to
the hangar to fly your real G1000 equipped aircraft, the G1000 in FSX is not
an exact copy to the real G1000. "

Also Microsoft states in the Learning Center:

"The G1000 in flight Simulator doesn't model all of the G1000's feature (and
new features are being added all the time). It does however model most of
what a typical private pilot would use on a typical VFR or IFR flight (using
an early model G1000)."

So there are clearly some issues with the G1000 as simulated by MS but I
like it and I'm using it.

BTW you can get the real deal G1000 trainer from www.garmin.com for only
$3.99.

Hi,

Many thanks for the input to all.

I have FS9 with the RealXP add-ons and love the 'feel' and visuals of these
add-ons. The weather radar, the Garmin 530 etc and I am a little loathed to
buy FSX and re-tool if it isn't at least teh same as FS9 + RealXP.

At £60 (in the UK) it ain't cheap but a lot of effort goes in and must take
time to perfect, so may waity till version FSX.xx.

May be MS are preparing a patch as we speak they did with FX9 if I recall
correctly.

Will give it some more thought unless anybody else adds more info.

Regards
Ray

RealityXP instruments have spoiled me rotten. If I had a working
credit card, I'd buy the full set (a partial set comes with Dreamfleet
aircraft). The simulation of Garmin GPS units is identical to the
real thing, since it uses the Garmin trainers.

Have you been able to find RealityXP products on packaged CDs, or are
they available only via download?

I'd rather spend money adding more stuff to FS9 than spend it on FSX.

couple of times had to re-install my system and with RealXP got my purchase
keys mixed up for which package etc.

I'm thinking same got my FS9 with add-ons to a level that is for me, will I
get this with FSX or start re-spending for not too much better or extra?
