I dunno, sounds like "Free Water with Every Meal!" from a restaurant.
Reactivation has always been free... as long as you paid for a month or
three.
I ass/u/me the offer comes with some active time for free...?

Every so often, they reactivate the accounts of all past subscribers
for just a few days, to try to entice them back. Generally they do it
every time a new Issue comes out, but given that I've heard
independently that another no-longer-subscriber friend got some free
play time given to him, they've done it to celebrate Good vs Evil too.

I popped back in having heard the weekend was free.
However for whatever reason I was under the impression that the veteran
rewards were in and so was rather disappointed upon entering a tailor.
Then I went back to Eve.
Maybe when that stuff goes live it will lure me back, since I have
enough time spent (13 coh+3 cov) to qualify for wings.
Still annoys me though, for literally _years_ now they have claimed that
it was impossible to do wings right as a costume option and instead
they'd have a winged race, and now here's a "reward" of something they
claimed was impossible.
Not exactly faith inspiring since it means they were outright lying or
this reward is second rate animations.

Would you believe that was the first place I went, too? I wanted to see
the wings, but I also had to have the tailor make me up something with a
couple new costume options. When I logged on I was reminded that my main
slot was a multicolored costume I made with my 4 year old nephew about a
year ago. It made villians run in horror, eyes bleeding.

Presumably some priorities changed when Statesman stepped down as lead
dev and Positron stepped in. Posi seems to be a lot more
straightforward about these things. And more than once they've gotten
"new technology" that would let them do things that had previously been
thought impossible (in particular, making summons like Burn Patches
and Rain of Fire inherit the effects of damage-boosting powers or
inspirations where they couldn't before). Wings could be another one
of those "new technology" areas.
Personally, I want hair that actually moves, rather than being glued
to my characters' backs...

This is even worse if you've played the villain side, since the Ghost
Widow has very long flowing hair - so it is possible to do it.

My main villain has a pirate-theme. He has the straggly hair that goes all
down his back, but never moves. It's just weird looking, especially when it
intersects his back. >> Stay informed about: Free Reactivation... free weekend? |

Technology keeps moving forward: it's possible that
the new 3d engine that makes it possible when it wasn't
previously.

I still nourish my belief that some devs are control freaks and choose to
resent them for this.

Or some rethinking and delicate coding got around the limitation. Many is
the time I was told by a software engineer that this or that feature was
impossible or would overload the app... until a few weeks later, when they
rethought it, made some changes, and it became possible.
Or the limitation was/is real but analysis showed that it wasn't as
limiting as they thought - or they decided that the cost was worth the
benefit.
The Devs have been stubborn about some things for "concept" reasons, but I
doubt there has been any lying and deception about what is and isn't
possible.
