Hi all,

I am thinking of re-purchasing a Dreamcast in the not too distant
future. After seeing Youtube videos of people (ab)using the
Dreamcast's fishing controller with games such as Crazy Taxi, Soul
Caliber and Virtua Tennis etc only made my desire to re-own one
stronger.

However I am thinking of throwing out my old TV and connecting all my
consoles to my PC monitor using one of those adaptors you see on eBay
such as this one:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XGA-BOX-connect-your-games-console-to-a-pc-monit...W0QQite

My question is will this work with the Dreamcast's fishing controller?
I know for a fact that light guns won't work with ANY monitor (crt
upwards) but am wondering if it will be the same for the fishing
controller as I know it has some kind of motion sensor. However I
assume that it will be pretty similar to the technology used in
lightguns so I'm doubtful..

Any help on this topic will be much appreciated!!

the fishing controller will work fine, as it doesnt need the screen
for anything, it's just got a couple of mercury switches (or something
similar) in it to detect movement.

and i'm sure lightguns will work with crt monitors, i could swear i
remember playing house of the dead 2 on my old 17" monitor.

Shouldn't effect it I'm thinking. The liught gun doesn't work due to a light
sendor and how it interacts with the VGA monitor, but doubt the fishing
controller has that... strikes me more like being like a real controller and
how those work.

It is funny how people are tinking with the fishing controller now.
