After much procrastination, I finally came face-to-face with Dialga.
Unfortunately, Cyrus managed to knock out half my team beforehand, Dialga's
Roar of Time knocks out the rest of my team in one hit each, and Professor
Rowan won't let me leave the Spear Pillar unless I face Dialga first. I
could just use my Master Ball, but I feel that I should save it. I could
let Dialga knock me out so I can leave and train, but I'd prefer to keep my
money and my pride if I can.

I haven't tried simply defeating it yet (which I doubt I can with half my
team out of commission), but I'm concerned that this is my one chance to
catch him. Will Dialga wander if I knock him out? Will he persist at the
Pillar until caught? Or is this my only chance?

How many years of Pokemon do you have under you? You know the answer,
you just don't want to face it. This is your only chance to get
Dialga. Where are your revives and potions (refer to my first question
please)? Why didn't you go and heal & stock up before facing Cyrus?

I think I went back twice (once after each of the ones before Cyrus,
but I am not sure 'cause it's been a while) and I know I had enough to
catch Palkia without using the Masterball. But I think I was better
suited to catching it since I did plan for it, but I was thinking that
Palkia was the same type as Dialga and they are different and my
friend told me how hard Dialga was, but he didn't plan. Also, don't
forget to get the Item behind Dialga after you catch it, sounds basic
I know, but a lot of people forget to grab it.

Good luck, and sorry to sound bitchy.

Also, You can get another Masterball if you have a Ruby, Emerald, or another
game (and if you want to spend the 20 or so hours going through it).

I have managed to transfer a couple of Masterballs from Ruby to Pearl by
having pokemon hold them and then migrating the pokemon. I caught Creselia
with a transfered Masterball, and am looking to get Regigegas with another.

Hope this helps,
