I noticed an interesting obituary in the Economist of all places that
seemed to get missed by the main stream press, but is significant to all
RPG gamers.

Gary Gygax the inventor of Dungeons & Dragons dies on the 4th March,
aged 69.

If you're thinking who ? Well World of Warcraft with it's 10 million
subscribers would probably never have existed without the very first
Dungeons & Dragons.

Missed by the main stream press? I saw it in the national papers, the
national TV news (CNN/Fox), and the local papers right down to my
small town paper.

"London UK" Hmm, maybe too low brow for the BBC?

Hello, Rip van Winkel, or maybe it's because you live in England. It
was pretty widely reported here in the US and is the subject of
several (now pretty old) threads on this newsgroup.

Check this newsgroup (and about half of the rest of usenet) as well as
quite a large part of the Web and even some of the mainstream press for
discussions, tributes and obituaries concerning Gary Gygax's death.
