It wasn't a patch fix. It was an expansion pack that was sold
seperately. As it hasn't been released into the public domain,
downloading it for free from somewhere would be theft. The same would
apply to the Conflicts in Civilization expansion pack for Civ II.

IIRC Civ2 Test of Time includes that content, I know that's the
version of Civ2 I have

Nonono! Civ II Test of Time didn't have the Conquests in Civilization
or Fantastic Worlds expansions. Frankly, I always thought it should
have been called Civ III (or since there is now a Civ III, maybe 2.5 Wink
). ToT has a fantasy scenario, midgard scenario, and a couple of
different sci-fi scenarios, but they aren't the same as FW/CiC.
Additionally, it introduced a four-level map in its scenarios that even
Civ III doesn't have.

Joe, yes there is a Civ II MultiPlayer Gold release that I think came
bundled with FW and CiC.

The Gold version would effectively replace your original, but would
make it fully up to date. You'd still want the gold edition patch (a
separate download), but it will run all of the Fantastic Worlds
scenarios (including ones off the net).

There is a separate Fantastic Worlds patch someplace -- was on the
Microprose Civ2 site once upon a time. Supposedly, it will work on
plain Civ2, allowing you to run FW scenarios. But the Gold edition
offers a better patch -- they did more fixes after that point,
multiplayer can be fun as well.
