Has anyone heard of somone losing the functionality in the rt/lt trigger or
R2/L2 in the game? I am no longer able to access V.A.T.S. or change my view
due to the fact that these buttons no longer work. It is not my controllers
because I have used two different ones. It is not something that happened
in the game because I even restarted from the beginning as well as tried
from old saves and none of them allow me to use those buttons. HELP!

Have you tried a different game to verify it's not a hardware problem?

Fresh batteries?

Do you have a wired controller you can try?

Hasn't happened to me yet, but you might check the "Glitches" forum at
Bethesda...

I'm using the PC version, but I once had a problem like that, playing FEAR I
think, due to the gamepad setup being changed from the default to a
different one. Dunno if I did it inadvertantly or someone else did it.

I was pretty enthused about this game but the numerous necessary
conversations were starting to irritate me so I shot Moriarity.

Yep, had to remap the controls so I can use VATS.

Happend on Oblivion too. These are the only two games I've
ever experienced it.

Oddly, they will work sometimes but for me it's hardly ever.
Hence oblivion ended up sitting on my shelf unplayed.

After reading many of the posts here in the bethseda forums ,I'm
almost to scared to put Fallout3 in my 360 and I just got my LE
version today . By the way the LE version looks pretty kool with the
lunchbox container.

I have a first gen 360 ,so I know its vulnerable
