I am trying to run Falcon 4 on a new compouter running XP Prof. It
installs fine but when I try to execute it bombs with the "Sorry for
Inconvenienec" message. I think the problem may be in Directx. It
wants version 5 and I am on version 11. Anyone have any thoughts?

The origianl Falcon 4.0 will not work, even upgraded to 1.08. Go here
and follow their installation instructions and read, read read.. Cool

Try updating Falcon 4 with Red Viper package (freeware). That should
take care of any problems encountered with the official patches not
working with current DX.

Also, Red Viper enhances the game quite a bit.
