Go right ahead, I'll see what I can do.

Yep, they sure help. Of course, they work even better if you have
something which is a able to break lightning immunities: cheap option is a
wand with Lower Resist charges, the expensive option is an Infinity
polearm on the merc. Especially since monsters with a broken immunity
still have very high resists to the broken immunity, facets and other
-resist gear work very nicely to further lower those monster's resists and
increase the damage they take...

All facets only benefit the character (merc of player) wearing it. Also,
the -res part of a facet is usually more important that the +dmg part,
since the +dmg part is actually pretty small compared to the boosts you
get from fire/lightning mastery. Cold Mastery is the odd-one out, there
both are about equally useful, unless you have Cold Master at a very very
high level.

I've got a Cold Facet/Die in the hat of my UT Smiters merc, and while the
effect from the Facet certainly also triggers when the merc dies, the
Blizzard from that doesn't make a dent in any of the monsters there. Said
merc doesn't die that easily in the regular game, so I can't really
comment on the performance of the Blizzard from the facet there.
Short answer: Yup, works. Effectiveness to be determined, so go right
ahead.
