No, worse than cell phones. I can at least find a use for a cell
phone, even if I don't really want one.

I've never been to either site and have no interest in going to
either. I could be wrong, but I think that stuff is more younger
generation stuff. And I find it a bit scary that kids are gonna grow
up thinking that plastering everything about themselves all over the
internet is a cool thing.

saw something the other day where someone found a starving cat which
had tags, but was obviously away form its owners from a time. The guy
just tried to text the phone # on it and was concerned about getting a
hold of the people. It never occured to him to CALL them.

No.

I've actually written a small article about *why* I won't join
Facebook but I'm not sure if I will publish it. People are pestering
me about joining though, so I might just to shut them up.

The main reason is that I don't give a damn about most people; those I
care about I already have contact with in other ways. Neither do I
have any interest in letting old classmates, etc, know what I'm doing
today (just like I won't go to any school reunions) - I've had enough
of their judgement.

Here is a wonderful PBS program that's on this particular subject.

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/kidsonline/

You can see from parents' POV, they are very concerned about their
children's future in the way you just described, but kids also have their
POV. Don't ignore the effect of cyber bullying....

Yes, I am going to ignore your remark again because you aren't yourself
lately. I don't know why since I am out of depression, but you seem to
want me to go back to it. Please be happy that I found a job (though still
waiting for finalization), and be happy I am actually making progress with
my private writing. I have not been this energetic and actually am making
prgresses in many many years. Give people salvations and you shall receive
some. I know you can be a very wonderful person.... No more torture.

I know he will hate me for saying this, but Poly is really a very nice
person. I can see him wandering around in his garden, carefully seeing to
the needs of his flowers, talking to them .... I should probably stop now

He has a somewhat specific sense of humour.

Castor beans do have pretty flowers.
