Fable 2, Forza 2, Halo 3, KOTOR 3...these are the titles that are going
to get people to finally bite the 360 bullet, myself included.
I still have a pile of really fun Xbox games to get through before I'm
going to start considering a 360. I think one thing that's hurting the
next generation's sales is that the upgrade isn't as drastic as
previous ones. The xbox/PS2 games already looks great and have great
playability. The 360/PS3 only add a little more eye candy, but the
previous generation wasn't exactly an eyesore.
So for me, it's merely a matter of being able to continue on the
franchises I'm hooked on. Since I'm not even finished with Morrowind
yet, I can hold off on Oblivion. I played PGR3 at a friend's house,
and frankly was a little bored with it. After playing Forza, I'm a
much bigger fan of that style of racing game now. GRAW looks cool, but
it's not quite enough bait to make me bite yet.
So, both in terms of when sequels to my favorite franchises are due,
and when I expect to have exhausted my current collection of xbox
games, 2007 sounds just about right. And I suspect I'm not alone here.
