Hi all,
Just wanted to state my opinion regarding the Game Play of Robotron:
Upright verses Mini. I can finally give an opinion because I now own
one.
My NIB NOS Robotron Cabaret arrived about two weeks ago. Got it from
John R. at Flippers.com.
I was aprehensive in buying it because a lot of people have stated in
RGVAC that Robotron needs to be played on the big screen(19"). I have
to say to the Robo Mini is awsome to play and I recommed it 110%. It
is also easy to move around, yet, the game does not shake around as one
may think during game play.
My 2Cents.. I will post pictures in the next few days.....
Cheers
Darryl Pike
PS: Thx John for the fantastic and professional service that you

I agree 100% with the above. The Ctail is really unplayable by all
measurements.

I have owned approx 8 Robo uprights and three cabarets and a NIB
cabaret, (still have not opened it yet) and I think the cabaret play is
a little better because you are looking down at it, seems to be an
easier flow that way. Todd

i guess i should have clarified my positions
the upright has the biggest monitor and slightly wider spaced joystick
the cabaret does look down moreso than the upright, but the smaller
monitor will put stress on any really good players eyes.
the cocktails controls just arent ideal for me >> Stay informed about: FYI: NIB Robotron Cabaret game play Opinion |

I find that the Cabaret game play appears to be a bit slower. I think
that it is because the CPU and everything electical is matched bewteen
the 19" and the 13" models, however, the time rate of travel is slower
on the cabaret. This is because in the limit as the monitor dimensions
get smaller, the same distance over which the characters travel is
smaller but the time component remains constant...Thus, the perception
is one of a slower game.
conversely, as the monitor gets bigger the physical travel distance of
a character from point A to B increases in relative proportion but the
time to travel from A to B remains constant.
Distance = Velocity*time (m = (m/s) x s)
or
Velocity = Distance/Time
Thus as Distance increases, Velocity increases given a fixed Time
interval.
I hope that I said that right...
Cheers

Surprisingly the cabaret is better for taller people, because of the angle
of the monitor when you look down at it you can stand straight up. On the
upright I have to either sit on a stool or hunch over to look straight on at
the screen.

At 186,000 miles/second or 300,000km/second I don't think the size of
the screen really matters much...
