Can someone assist please, is there a setting in the cfg for setting the p
brake in FSX. Often when loading up a fresh flight, I go carreering off
into the terminal wall as it seems not to be set by default. TIA

Start a flight, set it up the way you want with parking brake, etc and save
it as the default.

Note that on some occasions, if you crash ( yes, some people DO crash
Smile ) - when you restart, the throttle will be advanced and you will charge
away into a building or something. If you quickly push the throttle forward
and back it will get back to normal.

I always get that problem, hasnt caused a crash but any new flight the
throttles are advanced a little despite the throttle lever on my
joystick being at idle.
I always put it down to a callibration problem. Graphically in the VC
the throttle shows idle but giving it a slight touch on the joystick
makes it immediately advance to at least half way.
Moving quickly forward then back corrects it

I had the same problem and always started all flights with my break trigger
pulled as tightly as I could till the throttle back down. It sure wasn't
like that in FS9.

Well,

Why not save the flight after engine shutdown? I mean, you do switch off
your car before going to bed, now don't ya?

My brain is just too fuddled at the moment to think of a quick repost Loek.
Mrs C has me remodelling the bedroom.
Thanks for the replies all, clearly an oversight in FSX that the p brake is
not set by default. I will do as suggested and change the start up flight
to something more apporpriate. The default is OK but it pisses me off a)
that its the rarely used stringy kite thingumybob and b) its up there in the
air already.
