OK , FSuX is going to have to wait for a good while ! In the meantime I
want to upgrade my FS9 to keep me entertained for the duration ( however
long that is ). I have all the A/C I want , ActiveSky and Radar Contact.
What I have not installed are any of the various packages to improve the
ground appearance. There are so many that I would appreciate anyone's
opinion on which are among the best. I have a fairly high-end setup (
FSuX does not sgree ) so I can run most any and all add-on's.

TIA,
JimBob

You can go to the FSGenesis store and purchase multiple DVD's at a
great price which cover the entire globe. Shipping is free and so is a
buffer DVD. In addition, if you buy the whole set, you get a 45%
discount. I think that's what I'll be doing instead of buying FSX for
now. I'm a flyer, not a tweaker (although there's nothing wrong with
that) : )

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Flight Environment performs miracles with
the clouds and water...and Ultimate Traffic, well, it's just the
ultimate in traffic. Have never had a moment of disappointment with
either of those enhancements. All of those I mentioned will definitely
tide you over until your Cray comes in and you can use FSX : )

Become a life member of Genesis with Justin. Best money I ever spent on FS9,
and presumably for FSX when it becomes worth spending extra upon.

I agree, Justin's 38M mesh REALLY made a difference to the westcoast
of North America! I also use Ground Environment. These two add-ons
really made FS9 come alive.

I've got the 9M USA, 19M Canada DVD on order for FSX. Smile

Hi JimBob,

Flight Environment

http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/review/fe/fe.htm

and Ground Environment Pro II

http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=gepro

are both excellent, mate.

If your Active Sky is not the latest, it's well worth upgrading to
Active Sky 6.

John Ward

If you fly a lot over US or Canada, I strongly recommend Ultimate Terrain
US and Canada packages, from Flight1. Add this to the FSGenesis mesh and
you will experience a whole new level of enjoyment.

Hi JimBob,

I ran across a freeware offering yesterday, I think it was at Avsim,
which turned out to be very good - Real Environment Pro.
