Because the driver is independent of the requirement for video card RAM,
the minimum amount of which is required no matter which mode you run it
in. The driver is not required for safe mode. Video RAM is. Because the
driver is not used in safe mode, the card's GPU is irrelevant, since it
is driver-dependent in performing its unique functions. If you still
think the FAQ says something to the contrary, then you are
misinterpreting the FAQ. To the extent it is ambiguous, so be it. But
there is no escaping the minimum requirements. Those are not ambiguous.
Neither is the word minimum in this context. Don't believe it? Try going
with a 4MB video RAM card, and see for yourself. But this is really a
troll, isn't it? Just being hyper-literal out of context to stir up a
thread the only point of which is to show how you can tease out some
ambiguity divorced from reality and context. Very clever. No prize. No
further discussion. This troll doesn't meet the minimum requirements for
that.
