I am using FS2002 and have noticed that AI aircraft climb-out at a
very unrealistically high rate. Yesterday I saw a Boeing (probably
Aardvark) at about 2000' AGL and it was climbing at an angle of about
80º!

Is there a parameter in their config files which would rectify this?

Somewhere around here is a screencap of an 777 AI cruising
(with contrail) at a nose-down pitch angle of 5° or more. The
image filename is `AI tuneup.´

Oops.. didn't answer the question directly.

There are a few CFG params although I have no experience with AI
tuning. TBL404 is the Lift Coeff vs AoA. The default peak at ~1.6 and
that could be scaled down to 1.15 or 1.20

Check the Static_Thrust value.. and also the Empty_Weight.
