Right... but then a) it's just reminder text, it's got no actual game effect
- it's meant to be a ... reminder; and b) there's a long history in Magic of
reminder text being actually wrong on some point or other, or misleading,
when contrasted with the full rules.
But it wouldn't hurt to ask if they could tweak that to "Nonexistent mana costs
can't be paid." or the like.

don't know if there was ever someone specific to ask for at
custserv.DeleteThis@wizards.com , and am not sure that address is the right one any more;
etc. Ask your local netrep, in other words, and it gets filtered up the line
and maybe done.)
