Years ago I played Europa Universalis on a different machine. Recently,
after reading some history stuff, I suddenly had a desite to play it
again, so I tried to install it on my laptop. To cut a long story short,
it didn't work, I found lots of ways to fix it on the web, and they
fixed some of the problems, but not all. Currently, when I run it, I
get a "EU CD not found" message. The CD is in the drive, and the only
reason I can think of why the game can't find it, is that perhaps the
game naively assumes that D: is always the CD drive. It isn't; it's Z:.
Now I'm sure there's some way to rearrange all my drives so my CD is
at D:, but I'd rather not do that. So what are my other options? Is
there a good no-cd crack somewhere? I could find only one for the
1.10 English version, and it was locked by my virus scanner for
containing a trojan.
Does anyone know of any other easy way to get this game working?

engine with a few improvements.

Sounds like a good idea, but then I have to figure out where I can
still buy it.

From the Paradox Entertainment site I was able to find it for US$9.99:
http://www.gamersgate.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=...p.flypa
If that URL is too long, go to www.gamersgate.com and put "europa
universalis II" in the search box.

Well, I only spent a couple of minutes looking. But from what I understand
EU3 is a major change from 1 and 2.

And from what I understood from the various reviews and reactions, it's
mostly a change for the worse. I think I'll go for EU2.

Take a look here for the Paradox Forum about EU2:
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=51
You can find information and FAQ?s about the game and several Mods that
make the game interesting even after you played it several times.
And the banner at the top brings you to gamersgate where you can buy the
game itself. >> Stay informed about: Europa Universalis on WinXP? |
