I just returned from the Eurocon 2007 convention and i really had a great
time. There were lots of new vectrex relating things happening there. Lots
of new product demonstrations, very nice items, and the infamous "Joust
Evolution" cartridge has been auctioned.
If you like to read/know more about it, check out the Eurocon 2007 report at
www.vectrexnews.com .
Its in the "Feature Articles" section.
Since its very fresh there are no photos available yet, but these will be
added shortly >> Stay informed about: Eurocon 2007 report |

Well the game would need work and time to finish first... there's only
so much of it completed. Unless people really are interested in a part-
finished demo on cartridge...?!
What I do with the non-labelled cart and any of the overlays I'll
decide in due time... once John has sent them to me and anything else
I've "acquired" via my purchase... >> Stay informed about: Eurocon 2007 report |

Thanks for the write-up. Sounds like everyone had a great time.
So hey, based on this:
"This set was offered for charity auction and contained 2 Joust
evolution carts (one with label for display and one which was a bit
less fragile for using), 5 different overlays that were used during
development and all the rights to the game."
I assume that Alex didn't want to manufacture Joust:Evolution due to
the fact that someone out there owns the IP to Joust? In getting the
rights to the game in this auction, is there any chance that the
winner would produce carts?

Hi Richard,
It's a condition of sale from Mark/John. Sean will only continue to
supply them (and hence us) if no cases sold are used for multicarts.
(To preserve the USP of his own excellent multicarts.) It's
inconvenient for John, although it does actually help lower his own
costs. This condition doesn't affect the rest of us with our normal
releases.
This also explains the hullabaloo last year when Andy started selling
cased multicarts. Some of us got a little nervous, so now he uses
recycled GCE carts instead.

I didn't know that. I suppose there's no way around it given that Sean is
the only source of cases.
BTW if I'd have thought about it, I could have sent you a FlashBoy to take
to the show (I read someone brought a Virtual Boy).

Yeah that would have been nice. I could have taken a VB to demo it.
Maybe you'll have some photos soon?
