Just wondering...
When playing the Railgun mission in Wolfenstein: ET, I generally (as
in every mission) operate as an engineer, setting up, repairing and
firing the Track Switch MG, only deviating from this routine to plant
mines, sabotage or build command posts and perform any required
engineering jobs.
However, most of my time is spent blazing away at anyone who pokes his
head around the corner or passes in the tug. Is this considered a
legitimate tactic, or am I camping bastard?
I'm pretty rubbish at the game tbh, firing fixed machine guns is about
the only thing I'm good at. >> Stay informed about: Etiquette query |

Nope, that's completely legitimate -- it's your job to prevent the tug
from getting to the depot yard (or back to the Axis spawn if it's
later), and sitting at a crucial junction and denying passage to any
enemies you see is completely appropriate.

There is no dishonour in camping an objective. I'd say you were doing
a good job.

I (and I think most people) use the term Camping not to denote defending
(which you are doing), it's a term used for when the enemy sit just outside
a spawn point deliberately to kill newly spawning players. Campers have a
habit of not trying to take an objective, but instead to use it as an easy
way to rake up kills.

Yeah, I'm certainly not an XP whore, but I just thought some might
find what I do on that particular mission a bit annoying *shrug*
To be perfectly honest, I get very annoyed when the enemy start laying
down artillery fire on one particular spot. Just feel it makes the
game rather boring, although it's not against the "rules" (unless it's
on the spawn, of course.)
Thanks for the responses guys, I shall continue to deal death with my
MG with nary a flicker of remorse from now on! >> Stay informed about: Etiquette query |

To be perfectly honest, there is no "rule" about putting artillery on the
spawn, either. In fact, there are really no "rules" at all.
