Today, Eidos Interactive has released a time schedule and console platform
update on Tomb Raider: Underworld through a Trading Statement update on the
Bid Talks with other interested parties with respect to a potential offer.
Tomb Raider: Underworld, is now scheduled to launch on 6 platforms (PC, PS3,
Xbox 360, NDS, Wii and PS2) simultaneously during the Christmas season.
Previously Eidos planned to lauch the game on 3 platforms (PC, PS3 and Xbox
360) in June this year.
Eidos Interactive believes that these simultaneous multi-platform launches
in the key buying period, optimises the value that the franchise can deliver
to them over the long term.
Crystal Dynamics has developed a brand new game-engine to carry Lara forth
onto Next-Gen consoles including Sony Playstation3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
The game also has a hybrid lighting model which combines dynamic lights with
carefully created light maps to add a further realm of realism to
proceedings.
